Favorite holiday movies...
I love the classic A Christmas Story - always hilarious. And I watch It's a Wonderful Life almost every Christmas Eve.

But my favorite has to be Home for the Holidays (1995), starring Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr.
It's dark and dysfunctional and romantic and screwy. The best quote in the movie is when Tommy (Downey) is talking to his friend Leo Fish (Dylan McDermott) about his sister Claudia (Hunter): "She feels her feelings when she feels them. Feelings come up, and she actually feels them. Which is great."

Too few people realize the greatness of this movie.

What's your favorite (underrated or otherwise) holiday movie of all time?

  1. gramma got runned over by my reindeer!!!!!!!

  2. Definitely, without question, it's How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

And not just a little because I think the little dog Max is just so cute.

My sister used to call roast beef, "roast beast" because of that movie. Funny.

  3. My favorite Holiday Movies of All Time are A Christmas Story, and Christmas Vacation.

Clark: Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

Cousin Eddie: Naw, I'm doing just fine, Clark.

  4. and for my favorite 15 minuted holiday-related animated television program, it'd have to be:

Cybernetic Ghost Of Christmas Past From The Future!

  5. Someday there will be a Jeopardy question: "Which popular nighttime Cartoon Network cartoon featured death metal icon Glenn Danzig?" Hilarious. I saw that one Sunday night and I think it made me have scary robot dreams.

  6. Home for the Holidays is my favorite, too. I'm obsessed with RDJ! (This is Lindsey btw. I'm too lazy to create my own account, so I had to post anonymously)

  7. Home for the Holidays is absolutely my favorite movie.
