I love Drugstore.com and I love candy...

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this picture?

I was highly amused that adding diabetic testing supplies and a new meter (little! pink! easy!) would garner candy as a "great last minute idea." Usually the suggested impulse buys on Drugstore.com are geared toward your current or past purchases. This one says "Diabetics love to eat candy. Buy some candy!"

Hey, Drugstore.com? You know I love you, but trust me, if I had any extra space on my empty carbs dance card it would be filled up with Jack Daniels or icy cold Belvidere. And you'd have to wrap that awful scarf around my cold, dead throat in order for me to wear it. I'm diabetic, not crazy.

  1. Hee. It's almost like Drugstore.com wants to see you dead. What up with that, Drugstore.com? Don't you know that if you kill Kelly, she won't purchase yo shit no mo?

  2. That's exactly what I thought: "this seems malevolent." I think it was the scarf that pushed me over the edge. Not only are they recommending that I purchase candy, but why would a grown woman with no history of buying similar items want a Harry Potter effing scarf?

  3. Oh, that reminds me.

When I was purchasing a CD at Monster Music, I noticed that they have Betty Boop "Little Hottie" mints sitting on the counter.

Oh, yeah: major incense alert for those wandering into that groovy shop.

  4. Drugstore.com once sent me tampons instead of the glucose meter i Had ordered. More absorbant, yes, but not quite the same thing. ;)

  5. This sounds not unlike the ad I saw today in the paper about a new pie Publix has put together. Apple, Raisin, and Walnut. Sounds great, right? Allergies for the holdiays, what could be better.
